3ヶ月間の観察期間をとり,その間の転倒の有無により転倒群と非転倒群の2群に分け,転倒群に関しては転倒状況などを検討した。また2群間での観察期間開始時の関連要因について比較検討した。観察期間中の転倒者数は7例,転倒者率は16.7%であり,のべ10回の転倒が発生した。病棟や病室で立位や移乗動作などの際に,患者の不注意による転倒が多く認められた。転倒群においては,注意力の低下,視力低下,患側下肢感覚障害が多く認められ,中等度の機能,能力障害であり,ある程度活動性が高い症例に転倒の危険性が高かった。今後,転倒を予防していくためには病棟や病室の環境に配慮することや,上記のような患者を客観的に把握することが重要である。

burden of caregivers. The functional level of elderly was measured by Functional Independence Measure (FIM). The results were as follows: 1) The conditioning variables of caregivers were not significant factors of the burden of caregivers. 2) FIM score, especially motor items was important factors. 3) The dulation of care, change of functional level after discharge from hospital and anxiety about future were related with burden of caregivers.The results suggest that to keep functional level of elderly is important factor on burden of caregivers, and professional support to psychological probrems and health conditions of caregivers are necessary.

walking capacity and to evaluate the relationship among these factors in hemodyalisis (HD) patients. We measured the daily walking steps per day for six consecutive days, 6 minutes walking distance (6MD) and physiological cost index(PCI) in 53 subjects. These subjects were treated with HD for three days a week. The mean of walking steps for six days was 5620 steps. Then, the mean walking steps at treatment days were less than at non-treatment days. This suggested that treatment with HD affected the physical activity of HD patients. The mean value of 6MD was 473.3 ± 63.9m (mean ± standard deviation), and PCI was 0.46 ± 0.18. 6MD was significantly correlated with age (r=-0.48,p<0.001). And, PCI was statistically associated with walking steps (r=-0.27, p<0.05). The relationship between duration of HD and walking capacity was not statistical significance. These results suggestsed that to keep physical activity in HD patients has the potential for maintaining the walking capacity.

blems due to the particular therapeutic circumstances. The prupose of this study was to assess anxiety in the hemodialysis patients. 146 patients were studied by the Manifest Anxiety Scale (MAS) and the our questionnaire. As the results of the our questionnaire, 66.0% of the patients have the anxiety about the complications and the accidents related to the treatments. The mean MAS scores were 18.6±8.2, and 40.3% of the patients scored in the symptomatic range. These scores were influenced by sex, age, length of dialysis, and complications. These results suggest that many patients have several different levels of anxiety. Finally, it may be usefull to assess anxiety by the psychological tests and we must pay attention to their psycological status of the hemodialysis patients.

Results: General physical fitness was relatively superior. However, the score was low in the tests of litheness and nimbleness, and especially in a test of balance, the score was remarkably low. %BW and %VO_2 (oxygen uptake) in both the test of isokinetic muscle strength and exercise load test were low. Most of the results of biochemical examination were within the scope of standard score.
