概要: application/pdf<br />Departmental Bulletin Paper<br />The authors develop in this article a discussion on the present situation of measures for students with disabilities and measures against sexual harassment in national, public and private uilversities of Japan. The discussion proceeds on the basis of the data from a questionnaire addressed to the presidents of universities. All of 214 universities (45 national, 30 public, and 139 private) answered the questionnaire. About 60% of the universities admit disabled students in all of their faculties. The total number of the students with disabilities is 1044,91% are enrolled in private universities. Of these, students with physical disabilities are 70%. Most of the presidents show the necessity of both a public support system for students with disabilities and some measures against sexual harassment. Only six of the universities provide some measures against sexual harassment in all of their faculties, and three provide them on the faculty basis as well. Twentyseven universities, however, show their preparation. The increasing necessity for some measures against sexual harassment seems to be recognized from the fact that 55% of the universities consider "Much necessary" or "Comparatively necessary" as their response to the questionnaire. Some free opinions of the presidents support the necessity of measures against sexual harassment, but others find no necessity partly because any problem of this kind had never occurred in their universities. It seems that, university administrations assign a low order of priority to the issue of measures for students with disabilities and measures against sexual harassment. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />An effective method for improving the signal-to-noise ratio from measurements of bearing housing vibration is presented.The method is based on the conventional adaptive noise cancelling (ANC) technique principle;it varies the main signal input and reference signal input.Since the main and reference inputs signals are collected at different times, this method is called asynchronous adaptive noise cancelling (AANC).It can improve the signal-to-noise ratio, as in the case of the detecting bearing faults when vibration signals of machinery are collected under low-frequency noise condition.In combination with AANC, statistical analysis, enveloping spectrum analysis techniques are used for detection of bearing fault and diagnosis.Experimental result has shown that these techniques can be made more effective only after AANC has reduced the background noise from the diagnostic signals.A new approach is proposed to the traditional fault detecting for self-aligning roller bearings when the shaft speed is low (250rpm) or high (1000rpm) condition. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />In the present study an LDA-based technique was applied to analyze details of a transient pipe-flow induced upstream by a fuel ingector. Due to highly accurate measurements of the instantaneous time series of velocity, fuel flow rate and pressure gradient were achieved. The pipe flow has been driven under an injection pressure of 0.6MPa at high injection frequencies of 25 and 50 Hz. The influence of the outflow orifice diameter, varid in range from 100 to 500 μm, on the transient pipe flow dynamics has also been described. The results show that transient behavior of rapid oscillating pipe flow is remarkably and systematically dependent on injection frequency and duration as well as on the orifice diameter. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />Time-dependent centerline velocity is measured using LDA-flow meter. Swirl inj ector at frequencies of 22 and 46 Hz generates oscillated flow under high-pressure from 4 up to 7 MPa. The encoded time-series of velocity is used to reconstruct the time-variable series of instantaneous flow rate and pressure gradient. Transient injection dynamics are analyzed to obtain basec characteristics of an injection system that will be able to be used for real time monitoring or active controlling of high-pressure gasoline injectors. The results obtained through analyzing the integrated mass rates within a cycle, indicate that a certain injection system is characterized by the flow rate constant γ which independent on injection duration and can be obtained from only accurate measurement of centerline velocity in the fuel transport pipeline. The present technique allows us to simplify the injection model and can be effectively adopted for practical employment on active and passive control with respect to gasoline direct injection engines. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />A high-pressure swirl type spray has been experimentally analyzed by using a phase Doppler anemometer(PDA). The experiment was performed with an injection pressure of 5 MPa and an injection frequency of about 46 Hz. The PDA data was obtained in a two-dimensional plane and arranged with the injection phase angle. The arranged data of mean velocity, Sauter mean diameter, and droplet number density were visualized by using commercial software. In this paper, the data were compared with the results of visualization. It is indicated by the experiment that the large velocity and large size droplets initiated from the injector with small spray angle at the beginning of the valve opening duration. This stage was called core jet. In the next stage called quasi umbrella spray, the spray developed with large spray angle. After closing the valve, the spray remains increasing its velocity and diameter. This was caused by the "post injection". Using PDA, the detailed feature of the spray can be discussed with high temporal resolution. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Departmental Bulletin Paper<br />The polyamine patterns of 21 strains of extremely halophilic archaebacteria, including three newly described genera, were examined. Agmatine as the major polyamine was found in all strains, while putrescine was found in many, but not all strains. These polyamine profiles are consistent with those of 47 strains of the extremely halophilic archaebacteria published previously, but are different from any other groups of archaebacteria. Thus, the polyamine profile of the halophilic archaebacteria serve as a useful chemotaxonomic marker within the archaebacteria. 続きを見る

A kind of practical fuel injector with swirl nozzle was examined under variable injection duration within the range of 0.25 to 4.0 ms and injection pressure 5.0 and 7.0 MPa. The fuel spray was injected at a cycling frequency of 50 Hz in a room under normal atmospheric condition. Considered details of sub-millisecond transient dynamics were observed by using a high-speed video camera with temporal resolution of 24.69 μs(40500 frames / s). The results indicate that investigated spray consists of two incorporated flow fractions that are a core jet and a quasi-umbrella droplets spray simultaneously moving down and swirling in local cross-axis domains. Instantaneous transient values of axial and radial penetration were accurately evaluated and analyzed. It was observed that after actual injection a post-injection of fuel droplets occurs and the time-delay and lifetime of these droplets were systematically estimated. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />Experimental results are presented on chaotic oscillations of a post-buckled reinforced beam subjected to lateral excitations.The beam is partially reinforced and is clamped at both ends.One end of the beam is arranged to move to an axial displacement by an elastic spring.The beam is deformed to a post-buckled configuration by the axial constraint.Under the post-buckled condition of the beam, chaotic responses are generated in specified regions of exciting frequency.The chaotic responses are examined by the Fourier spectrum, the Poincare projection and the maximum Lyapunov exponent.It is found among other tings that the chaos of the reinforced beam is mainly generated with the lower modes of vibration.The instability regions of chaos as well as the effect of inertia in the axial direction are also examined. 続きを見る
