lateral force. Equations of motion are reduced to ordinary differential equations of multiple-degree-of-freedom system by the Galerkin procedure. To clarify effects of sag-to-span ratio on chaotic motions, first, steady-state responses are calculated by the harmonic balance method. The chaotic responses are obtained by numerical integration and are examined by Poincare projection, the maximum Lyapunov exponent and bifurcation diagrams. For the arch with comparatively small sag-to-span ratio, chaotic vibrations are generated mainly in the regions of subharmonic resonance of 1/3 order and of ultra-subharmonic resonance of 3/2 order, accompanied by the lowest-symmetric-mode of vibration. As the sag-to-span ratio increases, chaotic responses are generated from the subharmonic resonances both of 1/2 and 1/3 orders. Furthermore, chaotic motion appears within a wider range of exciting frequency and the number of modes that contribute to the chaos increases. Period doubling bifurcation was mainly observed in the bifurcation from periodic responses to chaotic ones. Hopf bifurcation was also found for the arch that satisfies the condition of internal resonance.

In the second report, influences of geometry (height, length, interval) of the beads on modal loss factors were clarified. In this report, layouting the viscoelastic materials on the surface of the bead panels using damping contributions of positions of the materials to modal loss factor properly, modal loss factors can be improved. Further, by investigating bead shapes which can concentrate distribution of dissipated energy on local area in the panels, effective shape of beads is proposed in consideration with modal loss factor, light weight and rigidity.

In the method, the resin coating over the Cu wire is fractured by applying the bonding force. Moreover, subsequent ultrasonic applications cause Sn to embed into the resin-fractured area and join the Cu wire to the Sn electrodes. When the Sn layer covered the top of the wire, the maximum joint strength was obtained. On the other hand, when the bonding time was longer than optimal, the Sn layer that covered the top of the wire was removed from the top of the wire and the joint strength diminished.

By measuring the enission spectra of various PAHs vapors, it was found that the peak wavelength in the emission spectrom of LIF shifted to the longer wavelength side with an increase of PAHs carbon numbers. The carbon numbers of PAHs in a diffusion flame was presumed from the data of peak wavelength of emission spectrum. It was confirmed that the carbon numbers of PAHs in the diffusion flame increased as approaching to the flame surface. The maximum carbon number was about 26 at the layer close to the flame surface.

First, large static deformations of the structures due to gravity were calculated using the proposed FEM. Next, linear natural frequencies for the deformed structures were investigated. The calculated results for straight beams and shallow arches using the FEM were consistent with the theoretical results carried by authors previously. Further, the influences of self-weight on eigen frequencies of the structure which was comprised of three straight beams were clarified.

In the case of sooting diffusion flame, emission spectrum consisted of NO and O_2 fluorescence, and off-resonance emissions related to the soot. The O_2 fluorescence and the off-resonance emissions overlapped on the NO fluorescence. However, the offresonance emissions near the vacuum ultraviolet region (VUV) were weaker than the NO fluorescence, and the ε(0, 3) band of the NO fluorescence, which appeared near the VUV region, was free from the O_2 fluorescence. Therefore, NO rotational temperature in a sooting diffusion flame could be measured by the spectral matching method using the ε(0, 3) band. By using this technique, NO rotational temperature in a propane diffusion flame could be measured.

to 450nm, N_2^+ 1- band was predominant in the nitrogen jets and the N_2^+ 1- and CN violet bands in the air jets. These bands were analyzed in detail by using synthetic spectra calculated theoretically. Temperature determination of the shock layer was tried by applying a spectral matching method to these band systems. In case of the nitrogen plasma jet, axial temperature distribution across the shock layer was measured and compared with the flow calculation based upon the modified fully-merged shock layer theory. It was found that the rotational temperature in the shock layer for both the arc jets was about 7000K, and the tempeature of a free stream in the nitrogen plasma jets was much higher than that expected.

Cells in Cartesian coordinate method numerical simulation have been also made by the experiment results. The model engine head that has two intake valves and transparent cylinder are used in the steady state flow condition. The tests are conducted by single- and dual- valve open condition with 8mm valve lift in-1470 Pa suction gauge pressure. The comparisons between the PIV and the LDA experiments show almost the same tendencies for mean velocities and turbulence intensities in the whole experimental regien qualitatively and also quantitatively. The differences in the valve open condition are clearly observed in the integral length and time scales that are estimated from the PIV and LDA data respectively. It is shown that the PIV results are useful for verification of numerical results, which agree reasonably with those of experiments.

Laser-induced fluorescence method for the measurement of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in diffusion flame was developed. A KrF excimer laser was used for excite the PAHs. Strong laser-induced incandescence due to soot was appeared with fluorescence signal due to PAHs. In order to separate the signals into LII and the PAHs-LIF detected from diffusion flame, time-resolved measurement was carried out. A pico-second gate CCD camera with a image intensifier was used taking a time-resolved image. From the two different images, which were taken at different time-delay, PAHs-LIF and LII were obtained. Intensity distributions of PAHs-LIF and LII were measured on the flame axis. Overlap region of the LIF and LII was observed around the onset position of the yellow flame. In this region, LIF intensity decreased and LII intensity increased along the flow direction. It seemed that this region was transition region from the PAHs to soot and was attributed the presence of soot precursor.

is also correct in thinking that the work is a kind of counterstatement to Wordsworth's writings. But these interpretations, which have been provided by many critics, are not enough to develop a comprehensive understanding. The Biographia exists based on Coleridge's multiple relations to the contemporary literary situation, himself, Wordsworth, and "oral cultures." Of those, the relationship between Coleridge and Wordsworthis central, but interrelationship of those four is more important because they cooperate to determine both the content and mode of the work. Through the analysis of these relations, especially those with Coleridge himself and "oral cultures," the Biographia appears to be different from a simple autobiography which concerns the public figure of the author or an earnest defense against censures from the literary circle. Considering its abundant characteristics stemming from "oral cultures" and the importance of Wordsworth as a counterpart of the author in the work, it presents itself as an autobiographical open letter to the poet. There Coleridge "talked." about himself to compete with Wordsworth, in the public field, as a philosophical literary critic. More importantly, then, this feature is where the work's significant originality derives from. The Biographia is not only an anti-Romantic autobiography, but also realizes an entirely new mode of the genre which represents a "private" figure of the author depending on the real personal relationship between himself and Wordsworth.

struggled, so their solutions are consequently various. This critical confusion can be attributed to the autobiographic narratives by Victor himself. In the work he narrates his own past three Times. The problem is that those narratives respectively represent different figures of the narrator, which means he has no definite image concerning his "self" or that the self is too fundamentally enigmatic to be understood by himself. This is the reason why each critic has shown different characteristics of "the truth" of the creator. Also, this characteristic of Victor's narrative has something to do with the contemporary development of autobiographic genre and Mary Shelley, who revised the work in later time. Some Romantics tried to define their own selves repeatedly by writing of his past in vain as was seen in Victor's case. Shelley's revision effectively contributed to maintaining the enigmatic self of Victor because she explained away the creator as led by his own destiny and she did not give readers any more clues to comprehend his behavior which had been depicted in the first edition.

These studies are carried out by means of two-dimensional LDA (laser Doppler anemometer) and numerical simulation with Partial Cell method. The mean flow velocity and the relative turbulence intensity are 4.5m/s and 2% respectively in both the experiment and the calculation. Comparisons of flows over the three plates are made for the mean velocity, turbulence intensity and Reynolds stress. In addition, the difference in turbulence flow structure depending on the diameter of holes has been discussed by experimental results.

consequence of the impact of Typhoon NolO of 1982, the Ministry of Construction installed a Debris-flow alarm system in this district. The evacuation training using this alarm system has been carried out by the community since 1983. However, the process has recently become a mere formality. In order to overcome this difficulty, eight (8) round-table discussions were held with the participation of community members. During the round-table talks, the problems of the present evacuation system and how to improve it were discussed. One problem was "the alarm rings too much" and the other problem was the opposite, it is, "the alarm does not sound". For the former problem, we reexamined the set value of the alarm system using five (5) methods proposed by the "Rainfall Standard" for warning and evacuation in the case of debris flow. For the latter problem, we developed a new evacuation system that emphasizes the responsibilities of each individual of the community. The most relevant outcome is a new type of hazard map named "My hazard map".

An electromagnetic damper consisting of permanent magnet for levitation and 4 coils is presented which lies at both ends of the shaft. When the shaft vibrates in the direction perpendicular to the shaft axis, current flows in the damper coil. It generates the electromagnetic force. The force is in proportion to vibration frequencies of the shaft, so that the force behaves like damping forces. Using this system, a control like the sensorless control is performed. Experimental tests have been carried out for the system as just mentioned. It is clarified that our system has stable levitation, and vibrations are suppressed significantly.

The objective function is the volume of a plate, and it is minimized. The virtual nodal forces always satisfy the equilibrium at each node in the process of optimization without constraints on parameters, although all elastic equations are not satisfied until the process is completed. In other words, the finite element analysis and topology optimization progress simultaneously. This method does not require repeating finite element analysis. Although the optimum structures obtained by this method as numerical examples varied depending on values of constants in the optimization method or the size of elements, the conditions of the density of strain energy were almost satisfied. It can be said that the validity of the proposed method was proved.

Therefore this study is carried out by means of a particle image velocimetry (PIV) or two LDAs (laser Doppler anemometer) composed by He-Ne and Ar^+ lasers. The cube is set on the floor of the wind tunnel. At the inlet, the mean flow velocity and the relative turbulence intensity are 4.0m/s and 1.5%, respectively in both experiments. Under this condition, the flow Reynolds number based on the rectangular cube height and the mean velocity is about 8800. Firstly, comparisons are made for longitudinal and transversal spatial correlation coefficients measured by LDA. Secondly, distributions of integral length scales distributions acquired by LDA and PIV have been discussed. In addition, the validities of integral length scale calculated by Taylor's hypothesis are evaluated in the flow.

le(CFS), 倦怠感数値化スケール(Fatigue Numeric Rating Scale(FNRS)を使用し倦怠感を測定した。また倦怠感を引き起こすとされている検査データ(Hb, CRPなど)及び, 身体状況Performance Status(PS)などの影響要因を併せて調査し, それらの要因とCFS得点との関係を分析し以下の結果が得られた。入院がん患者では60.4%の患者が倦怠感を感じていた。CFS得点の平均は20.3点, 標準偏差7.5点であった。影響要因とCFSとの間には有意な関係がみられなかった。FNRSとCFSの間には有意な相関(n= 43, r= 0.494, p< 0.001)がみられた。以上の結果より, Cancer Fatigue Scale(CFS)での評価が困難と考えられる重症患者や, 高齢者に対して, 倦怠感数値化スケール(FNRS)が有用であることが示唆された。

方法 : 本研究の趣旨を説明し, 研究参加に同意の得られた喉頭摘出患者4名を対象に, 半構成面接及び看護記録, 診療記録からデータ収集を行った。調査内容は, 喉頭摘出に対する思いや個人特性, 治療内容, 告知時の患者の反応等であった。面接内容は, 承諾を得てテープ録音し, 逐語録を作成した。分析方法 : 現象学的分析法を参考に, 喉頭摘出術の自己決定プロセスの分析は, 逐語録より意味内容の類似性に基づき分類し表題を導いた。結果 : 1)喉頭摘出術の自己決定プロセスは, 治療方針が明確化されず入院を待つ時期と, 入院後, 喉頭摘出術の告知に二重の衝撃を受け, 声帯機能存続への願いと生存との駆け引きに苦悩や葛藤する時期が認められた。2)喉頭摘出術の自己決定プロセスは, 声帯機能存続を願い治癒するためには仕方のないことと諦め自己決定に至るプロセスと, 仕方のないことと喉頭摘出術を受容まで葛藤の時間を要すプロセスの2タイプが示された。3)喉頭摘出術の自己決定にむけ複雑な心理を辿りながらも, 病気克服への願い等喉頭摘出術の受容へ移行する患者心理が認められた。4)喉頭摘出術の自己決定プロセスを支援するためには, 病名告知以後の患者の問題状況を捉え, 外来及び病棟との連携により一貫し, 継続した看護支援が必要である。

料を得ることである。母性看護学実習を行ったA大学看護学専攻4年次学生79名中, 実習初回グループをのぞく前半3グループ30名の中から, 協力が得られ実習前後で完全な回答のあった18名(60%)を分析の対象とした。二〇答法を用いた自由記述により実習前後の学生の自己概念の実態を把握した。また, 学生が「実習で感じた場面と感じたこと」について『病棟実習』, 『外来実習』, 『分娩見学実習』の3つの場所別に感じた場面を抽出し, それぞれの内容を「意味付け」して分類し, 内容の類似性からカテゴリー化を行い質的な分析を行った。分析の結果, 『病棟実習』で感じたことは「受け持ちの母親とのコミュニケーションの場面」を含む6場面に分類でき, '母親の児に対する愛情を感じる'を含む7つの「意味付け」の内容を抽出した。『外来実習』で感じたことは「妊婦健診・一ヶ月健診の場面」を含む5場面に分類でき, '妊婦は親になるという幸せな気持ちと複雑な心境でいることを知る'を含む5つの「意味付け」の内容を抽出した。『分娩見学実習』で感じたことは「出産に立ち会ったときの場面」で, '我が子の誕生は母にとって至福の喜びであると実感する'を含む5つの「意味付け」の内容を抽出した。学生が学習効果を獲得できるような教授法を展開するためには, 実習場面に適合した教員の関わりが有効であることが示唆された。

務する人工妊娠中絶の場面に関わったことのある看護者40名であった。調査方法は, 人工妊娠中絶のとらえ方に関する文章完成法テストを用いた質問紙調査であった。分析方法は, 累積KJ法を用いた内容分析を採用し, 人工妊娠中絶に関する看護者の価値観および看護観をとらえた。調査期間は2002年9月～l1月であった。その結果は, 以下の通りであった。(1)人工妊娠中絶についての葛藤には, 抵抗感と受容する気持ちがあった。(2)人工妊娠中絶を受ける女性に対しての葛藤には, 抵抗感と受容する気持ち, およびアンビバレントな感情があった。(3)人工妊娠中絶にかかわるときの葛藤には, 抵抗感と中絶を受ける女性に対し看護を提供したいという気持ちがあった。人工妊娠中絶を受ける女性により良いケアを提供するためには, 看護者自身が自己の感情を客体化し, 葛藤に対するコーピングスキルを持つとともに, 看護者相互の気持ちの理解や看護者へのサポート体制の充実を図ること, さらに, 看護者それぞれが看護観を深めていくことの必要性が示唆された。

272例中10例(3.8%)に皮膚障害が発生した。発生時期は術後3～4日目で, 仙骨尾側部から両側または片側臀部に半手拳大から手拳大の硬結, 圧痛を伴う境界明瞭な紅色の皮膚変化で, 中央部に表皮剥離, 水疱を認めた。発生直後からのWOC看護師の介入により創傷治癒を促進する治療やケアが適切に行われ, 皮膚障害による入院期間の延長はなかった。2.術後皮膚障害発生群は非発生群に比べ, 術後3日目のTPとAlbが有意に低かった。3.術後皮膚障害発生者は10例ともポピドンヨードによる炎症, 電気メスによる熱傷は認められなかった。したがって, その発生要因は持続的な圧迫によるものと考えられた。4.術後帰室時からの経時的な皮膚の観察, 手術直後からの体位変換や体圧分散マットの選択などを含めた, 患者の状態にあった除圧方法を実行すべきである。

地区に居住する65歳以上の高齢者35名である。【内容】内容は, 1.運動および転倒に関する状況(基本属性, 日常生活における運動の頻度・内容, 転倒の経験の有無), 2.バランスおよび筋力測定, 3.骨密度測定, 4.歩数測定【結果および考察】対象35名のうち, 男性11名, 女性24名であり, 結果は次の通りであった。日常的な運動の内容は, 「歩く」が51.7%であった。運動を「ほとんどしていない」が40.0%であった。自宅で「じっとしていることが多い」人が42.9%であった。歩数の平均値は, 男性は5983±4913歩であり, 女性は4429±2252歩であった。男女ともに加齢とともに歩数が減少する。男性よりも女性で歩数が多いほど, 筋力や骨密度が高い傾向にあった。日常生活の中で歩数を増やすための対策を検討していく必要性が示唆された。

の判定を試みた。アロマセラピーの介入法の一つであるハンドマッサージを一般市民(平均年齢51.4±14.7歳)に行い, その前後において, 自覚的体調評価, 加速度脈波波形成分比, 及び, 加速度脈波の時系列波形の非線形的な規則性を示す, カオス解析の指標であるRp-dwとTPMを比較検討した。その結果, 自覚的な改善に伴い, 末梢血管の伸展性の増加に加え, カオス性からもリラクゼーション効果が示された。これらの結果はアロマセラピーの有効性を示すとともに, 主観的評価を中心とした従来の評価指標に加えて, 客観的な生理学的指標を提供することになり, 相補代替医療の評価を目的とした「相補検査学」としての適用が期待される結果となった。

つ安全に行えると判断した内容を精選したものである。即ち, 光学顕微鏡を使用して細胞や微小生物の観察を行うことを基本とし, ヒトの血液細胞や染色体の観察といった保健 : 学科検査技術科学専攻の特色を考慮した項目も行うこととした。開講した講座内容は, (1)光学顕微鏡の使い方と身近な植物細胞を観察する, (2)微小生物の観察と環境中の微生物の観察, (3)寄生虫や寄生虫卵の観察, (4)ヒトの血液細胞の観察, ヒトの染色体観察などであった。平成14年度は, 親子での参加を原則とし, 顕微鏡下に広がる神秘的な世界を親子で共有することによって, 自然科学的素養の涵養と科学を通して親子間の絆を深めることを目的とした。平成15年度は, 平成14年度の講座内容を基本として, アンケート結果から得られた情報を基に, 若干の内容変更を行って開催した。具体的には, ヒトの組織や体細胞の観察を講座内容に盛り込んだ。また, 平成14年度の親子を対象としたものから, 小・中学生を対象としたものに切り替えた。その理由については後述する。平成15年度に行われた講座の概要を別紙に示した。

The measurement value of the applied solder volume was good accordance with the approximate half of the calculated volume using the close-packed model in which the powder with the average diameter is close-packed in the opening space of the stencil.

Mg2p XPS spectra, and the MgKLLAuger spectra of MgB2, which has the highest TC(39K) except for the high-Tc superconducting cuprates. For comparison, we have also measured the Cls XPS spectra of graphite, a C atom of which is in the same isoelectronic sequence as a B atom of MgB2 is. As for the peak positions between the XPS spectra taken at room temperature and 16K, the difference is not observed in the spectra derived from Mg core-levels. As a result, it might be thought that 〓q = 0, where 〓q is an amount of the change of the valence charge in an atom. This means that the valence charge of the Mg atom hardly change, and agrees with other experimental results. On the other hand, the Blj spectra might reveal that〓q〓 0, and this is contrary to the case of Cls spectra. This implies that the amount of the valence charge of a B atom almost remains or increases with temperature decreasing. The result seems not to agree with other experimental results in which the valence electrons tend to be localized in a honeycomb plain constructed from B atoms in the superconducting phase.

tavola d' altare di Wurzburg che la "tavola di San Lorenzo" condivisa tra Stoccolma, Berlino e Dresda, quali le opere di Stamina sotto l' influenza della tomba di Arrigo VII di Tino di Camaino. Innanzitutto sia per la composizione principale fatta da una figura assisa sul trono, circondata da sei figure,sia per i santi stanti di ponderanza quasi cubista come appunto nel caso delle figure di cortigiani d' Arrigo VII, tipici di Stamina fin dai suoi affreschi di Carmine a Firenze. Un capolavoro di "Maestro di Borgo alia Collina", seguace di Stamina, e polittico della Galleria Doria Pamphili, sormontato in cima al centro dalla raffigurazione di Cristo benedicente e ai lati da quella di Annunciazione. La composizione si riflette nei vari punti la tomba imperiale installata sotto il mosaico cimabuesco di Cristo Giudice nell'abside del Duomo pisano. II polittico di San Giuliano in San Gimignano, opera di un altro seguace di Stamina detto il "Maestro del 1419" riflette la composizione della tomba di Arrigo VII in due modi. In primo riflette tutti i tre strati della tomba, e poi riflette solo i componenti costituenti il pianterreno del monumento pisano. Parlando dei pittori del gotico internaziconale sotto l'influenza di Stamina e di Lorenzo Monaco, un grande polittico di Rossello di Jacopo Franchi del 1420, oggi al Museo dell' Accademia di Firenze, poi il Polittico di Bicci di Lorenzo di Pieve di Sant' Ippolito a Bibbiena, sempre seguono gli schemi scultoreo-architettonici di delta tomba pisana. Un altro pittore sotto l'influenza di Stamina e Giovanni dal Ponte. Alcune delle sue tavole d' altare mostrano vicino alia cima la scena di Cristo in Discesa al Limbo, e ai lati, "Annunciazione". Penso che tale scelta dipendesse dalla sua osservazione di Cristo Giudice in mosaico sopra la tomba di Arrigo VII. Ora parliamo di Gentile da Fabriano. II Polittico di Valle Romita vicino a Fabriano, del suo periodo veneziano, recante in cima "Crocifisso di Cristo" (A. De Marchi) gia si riflette la forma toscana del polittico sviluppata in sense verticale, come nel caso del polittico in San Giovanni Val d'Arno di Giovanni del Biondo ugualmente sormontato dalla scena del Cristo crocifisso. L'opera di Gentile riflette lo schema offerto dal pianterreno della tomba di Arrigo VII recante in alto la tomba vera e propria dell' Imperatore, allora considerata anche come la tomba di Cristo. La sua opera piu famosa, "Adorazione dei Magi", capolavoro del gotico internazionale oggi agli Uffizi, e perfettamente consona alia tradizione fiorentina dei polittici risalenti all' epoca giottesca. Terminata nel 1423 per la cappella degli Strozzi in sacrestia di Santa Trinita, la tavola innarizitutto riflette lo schema della tomba di Arrigo VII, composta dai tre strati di cui il secondo fu dominato dai ritratti dell' Imperatore tra sei cortigianl, e sovrastata dal Cristo Giudice in mosaico. Infatti allo spazio nucleare della tavola la figura del futuro Imperatore Sigismondo di Lussemburgo, bisnipote di Arrigo VII fu sottolineata come il Re piu anziano. Poi l' opera si riflette il contenuto del pianterreno del monumento pisano con l' Altare di San Bartolomeo recante i ritratti di committenti, circondato dalle colonne tortili di splendido effetto ornamentale, e sovrastato dal sarcofago e gisant. Infatti nella parte centrale della tavola ci sono i ritratti di Palla Strozzi, committente dell' opera e di Lorenzo, suo figlio, inquadrati dalle colonne tortili e dai pilastri di ricca raffigurazione vegetale. Le figure di Mose e di Davide giacenti messe accanto al tondo di Cristo nella cimasa centrale sembrano alludere al gisant deU'Imperatore Arrigo VII. Di fatti Dante vidi la figura eroica di Arrigo come MosS e Davide nelle sue epistole. Perd l' idea di riflettere la forma della tomba imperiale pisana in questa opera commissionata da Palla Strozzi doveva essere maggiormente auspicata anche dal contemporaneo interesse forentino allo schema decorativo-compositivo della "Corona di Carlo Magno" massimo simbolo dell' autorita di Sacro Romano Impero, dominata dal concetto di Gerusalemme Celeste, sia per la costruzione della parte absidale del Duomo circondante il Cupolone, che per il completamento della Porta della Mandorla con pieno decorativismo. Credo che da tale sottofondo provenisse ancheil disegno ghibertiano dei gradini della cappella Strozzi nella sacrestia di Santa Trinita con il motive ornamentale delle corone ottagonali. Di conseguenza doveva essere nata l' idea di occupare con tre lunette la parte superiore della "tavola di Adorazione del Magi" riflettendo la sagoma frontale della parte nucleare della corona oggi a Vienna, composta dall' alternarsi di placca arcuata grade e piccola. Anche gli effetti deH'insieme della tavola con pieno sense coloristico e suntuoso causato dall' uso abbondante della tecnica di oreficeria, furono appositamente ricercati fin dall' inizio, anche se nelle predelle Gentile mostro suo interesse precoce verso la novita brunelleschiana con le rafiigurazioni prosettiche di natura e di cittii.

metabolism, obesity and exercise for mentally retarded children. The subjects were mentally retarded children(boys:n = 29, girls:n = 8 aged 13 to 18 years). REE:resting energy expenditure values were measured by Portable Indirect Calorimeter(Metavine).The determination of REE has been indicated as one of the important parameters to evaluate the conditions of health In this sutudy we were measured to REE of mentally retarded children. The correlationships among body weight,body fat, lean body mass,and REE were analyzed.Significant negative correlations were obtained between REE and body weight(p <0.05). And significant negative correlations were obtained between REE and body fat(p <0.01). 16 mentally retarded children (aged 13 to 15 years) performed 15-min resistance training using0.5～1kg dumbbells for 12 weeks. We measured their lean body mass and resting energy expenditure before and after training. After 12 weeks of training, lean body mass and resting energy expenditure in mental retardation pupil were significantly (p <0.05) increase(lean body mass:34.9± 10.7 → 36.1 ± 10.9 resting energy expenditure:34.9±8.2 → 38.4±8.5).
