概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />The new sealant layer is presented, which is easier to include into the manufacture process of the tire in comparison with the previous research. The performance of the present tire was investigated, and it was clarified that there was no air leak when nails broke it. Vibration characteristics of the present tire were analyzed theoretically and experimentally, and the effects of the sealant on the road-ability and the road noise were investigated. Using the analysis, it is shown that vibration transmissibility decreases in the present. The impact characteristics are also discussed. The transmissibility is also decrease when the impact load applies to the tire, and load noise is also decreased. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />A new-type tire is presented, in which there is no air leakage when nails break the tire. The broken part is repaired automatically by its self-repairing mechanism. The self-repairing unit is consisting of two rubber sheets with lattices inside. Polymer particles, which expand their volume with water, are kneaded by bond, and inserted in the lattices. The unit is pasted to the inside wall of the tire. Coolant fluid diluted with water is inserted in the polymers uniformly. In this system, the polymer particles expand with water diluted coolant fluid, and become gel. Hence, they stop air leakages in the tire. Fundamental experiments are performed, and optimum conditions are found. This technique is also applied to real tires. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />It is important jobs to change diapers for a bedridden patient. Changing diapers hurts prides of the patient, so that a panty toilet, that can be worn to the patient, is of importance, in which feces and urine are washed automatically. In this study, a new-type automatic washing panty toilet system is presented. The system consists of a rubber made panty toilet with tubes at both thighs and a torso, and the control system. In the panty toilet, air expands the tubes, and water leakage is prevented when washing water being inserted in the toilet. Warm air dries in the panty toilet after washing. The control system is constructed, which washes in the toilet automatically. Experimental tests have been performed. It is ascertained that the proposed system is applicable, in principle, for practical use. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />A simple and stable energy-storage flywheel system with high temperature superconducting levitation is presented. In order to have stable levitation, a superconductor and a permanent magnet are used, and 3 permanent magnets support the top of the shaft. In the part of drive system, 8-poles permanent magnet and 8 coils are used to cancel electromagnetic forces in the radial direction. An electromagnetic damper consisting of permanent magnet for levitation and 4 coils is presented which lies at both ends of the shaft. When the shaft vibrates in the direction perpendicular to the shaft axis, current flows in the damper coil. It generates the electromagnetic force. The force is in proportion to vibration frequencies of the shaft, so that the force behaves like damping forces. Using this system, a control like the sensorless control is performed. Experimental tests have been carried out for the system as just mentioned. It is clarified that our system has stable levitation, and vibrations are suppressed significantly. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />A new type engine valve control system has been presented, in which both valve lift and phase are controlled directly by electric motors. A mechanism of the phase control system is made of planetary gears. The outer gear is the timing pulley which has timing belt driven by the crank of an engine. Two planetary gears are inside of the pulley. The gears engage in inner gear of the pulley. The center of the disc which has centers of the planetary gear is connected to the camshaft. Then, the crank rotation is transmitted to the cam shaft, and rotation of sun gear is added to the rotation of cam shaft. This means that when rotation angle of the sun gear is controlled, phase of the cam can be controlled. The lift control system is made of linear slider and ball screw. The cam shape of this system is three-dimensional. The height of the cam varies along the axis of the shaft. Hence, when the ball screw rotates, the cam shaft slides in the axial direction, so that the lift of the cam varies. Experimental tests have been carried out for the system. lt is ascertained that both cam lift and phase can be controlled continuously. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />A low noise gear without lubrication is presented, which is made of COPNA material involving Graphite. The noise between steel gear and the present gear is investigated experimentally. The experiment is also performed to the gear mechanism using ordinary plastic gears. It is clarified that the noise from the gears is small as compared with ordinary plastic gears without lubrication. Especially, the noise of the present gear is significantly small when the gear is rotated under a load. The mechanism of noise suppression in our gear is investigated. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />A new type leakage isolation sheet with self-repairing mechanism is presented, in which there is no water leakage when the sheet is broken. The sheet consists of two rubber sheets with lattices inside. Polymer particles are in the lattices, and sandwiched between the rubber sheets. The polymer particles expand in contact with water, and they become gel. The large pressure is generated in the lattice of the sheet. Hence, the sheets isolate water leakage. When the rubber is broken, polymer particles fall down with water. In order to keep the particles in the lattice of the sheet, textile sheets lie on the back surfaces of the rubber sheets. Experimental tests have carried out for a model of the sheet, and it is clarified that the proposed sheet isolates leakage perfectly under 1 MPa pressure when the sheet is broken by, 10 mm diameter punch. 続きを見る

概要: application/pdf<br />Journal Article<br />A torque controllable viscous coupling is presented. The coupling consists of two types of discs with slits. One is connected to a housing (follower discs) and the other is connected to a shaft (driving discs). The driving discs and follower discs are arranged by turns and they are sandwiched. MR fluid is filled in the housing. Magnetic fields freeze the fluid, so that the shear torque is generated between the diving discs and follower discs due to shears between the slits in the discs under the magnetic fields. The torque is controlled by electromagnets. In order to have large torque with small electric power, coil turns have to be large, so that response delays due to inductance of the coil. A controller which improves response is presented. A method of control is presented which controls distribution of torque of rear wheel and front wheel. 続きを見る
