目的で本研究を実施した。1年次のプロセスレコードを分析した結果,用いられていたコミュニケーションスキルは,閉鎖的な質問と反射的に投げ返すの2種類が多くを占めた。2年次のプロセスレコードを分析した結果では,閉鎖的な質問と反射的に投げ返すの2種類に加えて,誘導的な質問言外の意味を言語化するというスキルを用いることができていた。さらに3～4種類の技法を用いてコミュニケーションを行っており,指導効果が認められた。

仕事満足度および就業意向との関連を明らかすることを目的とした。G県内の病院に勤務する看護職者3,895名に質問紙を配布し, 同意を得られた3,345名を対象とした。回収率は85.9%であった。自尊感情についての分析では保健婦, 助産婦, 准看護婦を除いた看護婦・士のみを対象とし, 2,712名(69.6%)の回答を分析した。結果は以下の通りであった。1.経験年数および年齢が増すと, 自尊感情得点は有意に高くなる傾向が見られた。2.仕事に対して満足している者は, 自尊感情得点が高かった。3.退職年齢まで就業継続したいと望んでいる者は, 自尊感情得点が高かった。以上の結果より, 自尊感情と経験年数, 年齢, 仕事満足度およ職業継続とは, それぞれ密接に関連していると考えた。今後は日常業務の中で, 自尊感情を高めることが望まれる。

び学生(他9人,総勢31人)は,2週間ではあるが文化の異なる生活を体験しながら,講義や見学を通して,米国の看護について学ぶことができた。その体験や学びの一部を報告する。主な内容は,(1)21世紀の看護について示唆を与えてくれた講義内容の紹介,(2)今回初めて企画され見学したグッドサマリタン病院(Good Smaritan Hospital)の特徴的な分野の概要,(3)学生から最も高い評価を得た講義および見学施設についてである。また,アンケートに基づく研修内容の全般的な評価,講義や見学内容の評価を学生の感想を含めて報告する。研修は,全般的に良い評価が得られていた。充実した研修ができ,今後の看護を考える上での良い機会となり,有意義であったと認識した。

on their ability of pain observation. As the result of this survey, we have made the following conclusions. 1. There were certain differences between Japanese nurses and American nurses on the identification of pain location, the assessment of pain and the understanding of pain. 2. The responsibility for pain control is laid on doctors and nurses in Japan, while it is laid on patients as well as doctors and nurses in America. 3. As for the relevance of Nurses' experience to their ability of pain observation, the nurses with more than ten years of experience have more appropriate pain observation ability than the nurses with less than ten years of experience.

When the patients were divided into two groups consisting of a group in which blood pressure readings determined by doctors were obviously higher than those by nurses and a group in which readings by doctors were the same as those by nurses, personality differences were noted. The scores for depression, inferiority feelings, lack of objectivity and lack of cooperativeness were significantly higher in the former group. These results suggest that the hypertensive patients showing marked increase in blood pressure during the doctor's examination have specific personality types. We need to vary care strategies for patients according to the their individual personality types.

The results of the survey showed: (1) Eighty percent of the subjects were engaged in housework in their homes. The remaining 20% were at low levels of independence. (2) There was no correlation between the subjects' attitudes toward the high school housekeeping course and the degree of their involvement in the houswork.
